Tanzania Sustainability activities

Internship Program Together with the International Youth Foundation and the Vocational Education Training Authority (VETA), Aramex introduced a project empowering the youth in Tanzania through internships for individuals between the age of 19 to 25 years. The goal of this project is to teach employment skills to the youth who have not received advanced level education. Through this 3 month internship, candidates have the opportunity to be trained by different departments ranging from HR, Operations and IT. Aramex seeks to identify organizations that have an established track record in designing youth engagement and empowerment programs, with measurable impact. This program also encourages youths to come up with their own initiatives, and work with them to identify areas of common collaboration.

Scholarship Program Aramex Tanzania has partnered with Bonnah Education Trust Fund in supporting 30 school students in Dar es salaam in the academic year 2014 with completing their secondary education. In Tanzania, a large percentage of children have access to primary education as it is free. However, a large number of children who complete primary education miss out on secondary education because they cannot afford secondary school fees and the other expenses. Every child has the right to education. Providing education to children reflects the fact that every child is entitled to fundamental human rights and is to be treated with dignity.
